Paragon Ventura, the mothership of Paragon and affiliated academies worldwide, is ran by the master and founder of Paragon himself, Ricardo “Franjinha” Miller. If you are already a Jiu Jitsu practitioner he should need no introduction, but for those of you who are new to the art allow me to introduce the man, the myth, and the legend, Franjinha. Father, husband, multiple time World and Pan American champion, BJJ instructor, life coach, certified tough guy with a heart of gold, and friend. This man came to the United States from Brazil without a dollar to his name and a dream to share Jiu Jitsu with the world. He has been living that dream for years…spreading the art to the masses, guiding people to become better versions of themselves, and creating champions!
You want to know that you are getting your money’s worth at any academy, and Paragon delivers with the absolute best instruction. The aforementioned Franjinha is a fifth degree black belt under Romero “Jacare” Cavalcanti, the founder of Alliance. Jonatas Novaes is a third degree black belt, multiple time world nogi champion, and professional MMA fighter. The entire team of instructors here is filled to the brim with an embarrassment of talent. On any given night you can find black belts teaching and training on the mats along with a plethora of other advanced belts to help you in your journey. Fear not newcomers, there is no shortage of white and blue belts at this academy as well. Jiu Jitsu takes all types of people, and this academy embraces the “Jiu Jitsu is for everyone” philosophy.
The instruction, the comradery, and the hard work put in at Paragon is tough to match in any other environment. If you’re reading this review and wondering if you should check out the academy, what are you waiting for? Stop by and see for yourself!
